As from the 1st of Jan. 2012, the Unione di Comuni Valdarno e Valdisieve (Municipalities of Londa, San Godenzo, Rufina, Pelago, Pontassieve, Reggello and Rignano Sull’Arno) will levy an accommodation tax by order of the Council no. 41 dated 30/06/2011.
The tax applies to overnight stays by non-residents in the Municipalities of the Unione di Comuni Valdarno e Valdisieve (Municipalities of Londa, San Godenzo, Rufina, Pelago, Pontassieve, Reggello and Rignano Sull’Arno) for a maximum of 6 consecutive nights.
The value of the tax for this hosting structure is of Euro 1,50 per person per night.
In the following cases the tax is not levied:
i) children up to 16 years of age;
j) coach drivers and tour operators assisting pre-arranged groups of tourists; the exemption of this tax applies to each driver and to one operator for each twenty tourists;
k) staff who work as employees in the hosting organisation;
l) students and escorts who are guests of the organisations during prearranged school trips;
m) the disabled and their escorts, on the basis of one escort for each disabled person;
n) people who assist hospitalised patients (even if hospitalised for just one day) within local public health service organisations, on the basis of one escort per patient;
o) institutional guests (twinning, etc.) of the member Municipalities of the Unione di Comuni Valdarno e Valdisieve;
p) people who are staying in hosting organisations, as a consequence of provisions by local authorities – on emergency occasions following natural disasters, or extraordinary events, or for human aid purposes.
The value of the accommodation tax is to be reduced by 50% in low season periods (the months of November, December, January and February).
